Transportation

By Car

Transport by car is easy, because the highway E45 is very close, only approximately 3km from the harbour. Below is a map going from the south of Europe to the Harbour of Skovshoved on E45 and then Klampenborgvej taking exit no 16 (Lyngby C).

By Public transport

Public transport is also available from the airport. If people travel without boats it’s easy to go to the center of Copenhagen (Nørreport) with metro and from there with the S-Train to Ordrup station and a 1,6km walk from there. The travel time is approximately 1 hour including the 20 minute walk from the station. The ticket costs 60 DKK (~ 8 euro). It is also possible with a combination of S-train and bus, with a walk of only 500m. In Denmark we use the public travel site of rejseplanen. Public transport is not recommended with boats!

By Plane

Transport by plane is also possible arriving at the airport of Copenhagen. Copenhagen airport is the gateway for northern Europe so many planes from all the major flight companies will go there.

Flight companies like SAS, KLM, British Airways, EasyJet, Air France, Brussels airlines, Finnair, Ryanair and many more flying to Copenhagen. You can see a complete list here.

The Organizing Committee will offer pickup in Copenhagen airport (Kastrup) Terminal 3, at an affordable price. The drive is approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic to the Harbour of Skovshoved.

  • Price per person withou boat: 9 Euro / one way
  • Price per person with boat: 12 Euro / one way

Airport pickup have to be arranged with the Organizing Committee with flight number and contact person details, at least 2 days prior to arrivial.

Please contact the Organizing Committee on email for airport pickup: sco@skovshoved.dk

We recommend every team that wants to travel with plane with boats to carefully check the rules of odd luggage. Some airlines don’t allow boats. In Denmark when we travel with boats we put our boats in bags and check them in as surfboards, but it is still not every airline company that allow the sizes of boats. Check the rules with the airlines you are traveling with.

For the teams or persons who order pickup, we will, depending on the time of day and schedule, try to do the trip through Copenhagen to see some of the attractions. Skovshoved Harbour is located north of Copenhagen, while the airport is in south east.
